Multiple Arrests

Multiple arrests were made involving two different thefts in Wilkes.  While Sheriff’s Deputies were investigating one theft, they found property from a second theft.  A Traphill Road resident called the Sheriff’s Department this week regarding the theft of some yard ornaments including an angel and a boy and girl ornament.  Sheriff’s Deputies were already investigating the theft of some memorial benches from Haymeadow Baptist Church.  While conducting the theft from the church investigation, Sheriff’s Deputies also found the yard ornaments.  So, the five people involved were arrested and charged.  Marty Rhoades of Hays was arrested and charged with larceny.  Patricia Cline, Timothy Matney, Samantha Prevette, and Norma Stanley were arrested and charged with receiving stolen property.  Again the stolen property was recovered by Sheriff’s investigators and will be returned to the rightful owners.
