Now....Let Us Pray

Here at 3WC News, we have received a couple of requests to reflect Christian values in our news stories.  So with that in mind, here is our news report.  The American family is under attack including Wilkes County families.  As a nation our motto has been In God We Trust.  However, in recent decades we have taken prayer out of schools and in recent years some have tried to take God out of our pledge of allegiance.  We submit to you that in this highly charged political year what the country needs more than a person, party, or play is, in fact, prayer.  Cases in point:  Within the past week, a father held his son at gun point. The father from Moravian Falls, according to a Sheriff’s Department report, pointed an AK-47 at his son.  Also, several assaults occurred during a domestic disturbance at one residence in Millers Creek, and in another domestic situation in Boomer, a man reportedly held a woman at gunpoint.  And finally, a Sheriff’s Deputies were called to a Roaring River residence where a mother showed Deputies some drug paraphernalia that belonged to her daughter.  The daughter was charged with possession.  Thankfully, no one was reported injured in either of these incidents.  But again, we submit to you that what we need to do above all in this country and in this county is to pray for each other.
