Car Wrecks in Wilkesboro
Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at 9:42AM One person sustained minor injuries in a two-car collision Monday afternoon. According to the Wilkesboro Police report, Barbara Wiles made a left turn against a red light at the Intersection of Hwy 421 and Hwy 421 Business. Wiles collided with another car driven by Raymond Hall of Kannapolis. Witnesses reported that Hall had the green light. Wiles was charged in the wreck with failure to stop for a red light. A passenger in Wiles' car was taken to WRMC with minor injuries. Vehicle damages were estimated at 5000 dollars each. Since the beginning of the month, Wilkesboro Police have investigated at least 4 wrecks in area parking lots including one that's classified as a hit and run. A woman reported she was leaving Westwood Hills Nursing facility when she saw another vehicle really close to her car. It stopped abruptly and then left the parking lot. The woman obtained the tag number of the other car and found she did have 400 dollars in damages to her front fender. The other driver has been contacted by Police and they have agreed to meet with Police. Charges are pending.
