Burglars Knocked Out a Wall
Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at 9:20AM Sunday afternoon, Wilkesboro Police received a call to a breaking and entering at Liberty Income Tax Service on Winkler Street. Upon arrival at the tax service, Police met with an employee who found the front door open. Police went inside to secure the building. They found the wall between Liberty and One Main Financial had been cut through completely and ripped out. Several offices and filing cabinets had been gone through. It was determined that 105 dollars in cash was taken from a lock box in the front office. Two surveillance cameras inside the building were knocked off the wall. One Main Financial reported that 200 dollars was taken from a filing cabinet and 20 dollars taken from a March of Dines bank. The rear door to one of businesses was found unsecure. Police were able to retrieve a finger print from the door that was entered as evidence. The power to the building had also been cut off at the breaker box. Damages to the two businesses are at estimated at nearly 4000 dollars. There is no word on suspects; Wilkesboro Police are still investigating the burglary.
