Wilkes Break-Ins Continue

The Wilkes Sheriff's Office continues to investigate a number of break-ins and thefts in the area.  A resident on Laurelwood Drive in Wilkesboro called the Sheriff's Department recently concerning a break-in at their home.  While the owners were away, someone entered the house through a window at the front of the house.  Several pieces of jewelry and some passports were stolen from the residence.  There is a suspect in this theft and charges are pending.  Then another home break-in report came from a homeowner on Byrd Ridge Road.  This time, the owners report that the doors were left unlocked.  Someone entered the house while they were gone and stolen some cash.  There are currently no suspects, but the investigation is still underway.
